Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be looking at the TaylorMade chafe guard. This is going to help to protect your ropes whenever you go up to dock to keep them from chafing against any kind of sharp edges on the dock or on your boat, and also to help protect your boat surface from any damage to the paint or your gel coat.So you can see this is going to be a pretty straightforward sleeve. It's just going to wrap around that rope. The nice thing about it is that you don't have to untie it to get it installed. It's just a hook and loop closure.
So we open that up all the way. You can see on the inside we'll have another strip of hook material. This helps to grab onto the rope and keep the cover from sliding along the length of that. The material that this is made out of is a 1050 denier nylon. So it's going to be nice and durable.
You can hardly even see any daylight through there. So definitely going to be a tight-woven, very nice, durable fabric. You can also use this second strip of hooked material to more tightly wrap this around your line if it's maybe a little bit thinner and really wrap that tightly, especially if it's going to only be an inch in diameter. But this is intended for inch and a half up to two-inch diameter ropes. It measures about two feet long and the total width is about eight inches. But whenever it's all wrapped up, it's about two and a half inches in diameter.
So we kind of tuck that together, make a little burrito. You do just get the one chafe guard. It is made in the USA. And that's really about all there is to it for our look at the TaylorMade chafe guard. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is the right one for you. Thanks for watching, and we'll see you out on the water..
